Hello, hello ladies!

Its been a wild week for me.  So sorry I haven't checked in! My speech went fine on Monday, and I got a call while I was at the conference asking me to be at a client office, out of town, by 8 am the following day. So it was a scramble to get home, get packed, etc.  and then they changed the direction and I was sent to a different client entirely. Anyway, on e I got have I have been in meetings or other activities from 7am to 11pm.  Non stop.  Very crazy.  It will settle down in a few weeks but for now, I have very little time to myself.  But I am exercising and somehow managing to eat right - my hotel room has a kitchenette so I am all set up. :-) in fact I ran back to my hotel to grab a quick lunch as there is nothing decent to eat near our work site.  So I came back and fixed a chicken burger that I bought at While Foods, next door.  Yummy!

Connie, I'm so glad your pain is improving!

Vickie, I hope your birthday present is a working pain med for Butch.

Mary, i a spit take when I read about poor Jim. I hope things are working out now! Like everyone else I bet that ll keep him in line in terms mod taking care of himself...

Judy, I'm glad one surgery is done but pray everything goes well for the rest of the procedure.

Kathy, thanks for remembering me! Glad you're doing well.

Carla, a, I think this is the longest you've been in one spot since I've been posting here!

I'm forgetting everyone else and just don't have the time to go look everything up!  I am so sorry! My meetings end at 8pm today so I hope to get some rest and catch up with everyone else in the morning.  Let's make it a good Thursday!  Love to all and prays to everyone who needs them!

Hello Christine....you didn't jump ship after all...LOL!!! I knew you were busy with your job. You are really kept busy. I hope for your sake it does slow down soon!

It sounds like you are doing well with your exercise and eating. Good for you!! It helps to be able to have a eating kitchenette in your room.

I am glad my pain is better too!! It is nice to actually feel like doing something! Thanks for thinking of me.

Have a good rest of the day and hopefully you can manage a good nights sleep as well.

Bunches of love and bushels of hugs to you....connie d

Good Morning Ladies!!

Not much today.  I have a 3:00 appt. with the cardiologist today.  I think I told you there was a message on my answering machine about scheduling the appt. -- I returned the call and they set me up for a f/up appt.  Then later I answer a call from the same office, and I told them I already set up the appt. -- turns out the message was for Jim, not me.  But I was overdue for a f/up visit so it worked out.

Jim saw the doctor - his peach turned into a grapefruit, but apparently it's normal with his condition -- wish someone had warned him.  But, the doctor is afraid he may be getting an infection, so he started him on an antibiotic, and said he'd probably have to b "tapped" again. Last night he took the pressure bandage off, and he is actually "leaking" fluid right through his skin...not a lot, but it concerns me.  I want him to put another bandage on, but he thinks the leaking will bring him some relief.  To me, it makes me worry about an infection.  We'll see.  His weight went up five pounds in the one day out of the hospital, and I haven't weighed him yet today.

Last night I transplanted all my veggies from big pots into the ground.  I thought the pots I got would be big enough for "container" gardening, but they were too small.

Well, I've go to go take a shower -- I like to smell purdy when I go to the doctor.

Hope everyone has a good day.  Nice and sunny, but cool today.

Mary

Hello Mary......I am glad you are getting in for your follow-up appointment. I pray all goes/went well. YUP....got to smell purdy for the doctor!!!!!

I am sorry your planters were too small and you had to get the plants into the grown. Maybe next year you can do that.

Jim is home and in one day he is already up five pounds. I hope he let the doctor know about the taking off that bandage and the seeping. He very well could get infected. That is all he would need! Praying it gets better.

Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs to you...connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Not much happening here. I got up early to go to the Y. Went to the Y, got inside and there was a sign saying the pool was closed. Bummer. The ventiliation system was broken. So I decided to go to Target to pick up a couple things. A half hour and nearly $70 later, I left. Oh well ...

Now that I didn't go in the pool, I have to shower here.

My pc mover software didn't quite work. Some stuff moved over, but my photos and music and stuff didn't, although it's all on the Verizon Cloud software. So I guess it's OK. I'll have to try again. I'm too tired to try it again. I was so tired at work last night my eyelids were closing at times. I really will try to take a nap today before work.

Vickie, I take Norco (it's the new version of Vicodin) and it doesn't affect me like that, but it's not double strength for me. But everyone is different.

Hope everyone has a good day. I need to get in the shower and have lunch so I can get a decent nap in.

Hello Eileen....sorry the pool was closed. Sounds like you got some exercise in with walking around Target. It doesn't take much to spend $70 there!

I hope you did/do manage a nap today before you go to work. I blame our fatigue ion the weather. It has been so humid today and I am having the same thing....my eyelids keep drooping.

What is the difference between Narco and Vicodin??Why did they decide to switch you to that? Just wondering.

I hope work goes good for you tonight!!

Lots of love and hugs to you...connie d

It's the amount of tylenol. FDA said the dose of tylenol had to be lowered due to the danger of liver disease by overuse of tylenol. Now, I know not to use tylenol and Norco and other meds that have tylenol in them  but some others will mix tylenol and cold meds with tylenol and suddenly they have taken way too much ... plus then they'll drink a little took much and they have liver disease. It's nationwide.

Eileen ...thanks for answering my questions....I take Tylenol almost every day...it doesn't do much but it helps with my other meds. I see my doctor next week and I will talk to her about this.

I don't know how I missed this one!!!

 Love and hugs....connie d

Ladies,

First: Happy Birthday Vic...and I am so happy the new pain meds are working for Butch.

My pouch has calmed down.  A day of clear liquids has improved the pain and I think I will stick to the liquids for another day.  A couple of days ago, I ate fresh corn on the cob with fresh squash with fish for dinner and after dinner, we had watermelon and the next day I ate pistachio nuts and cucumbers and celery and bell peppers off and on all day for snack food...it's no wonder I was having pains.  When I add soft foods in a day or two, I will see if the pain comes back.  If it does, I will call my surgeon because I don't play when it comes to my reconstructed belly LOL

I am drawing blanks with everyone's comments as I do every day...I hope you all have a wonderful evening and restful night.
